Research & Education
We conduct and facilitate research and education in association with the UBC Centre for Plant Research and within UBC’s Faculty of Science.
Overview
UBC Botanical Garden, part of UBC’s Faculty of Science, is both a living laboratory and an outdoor classroom. The Garden supports a wide range of scientific research while also enriching undergraduate and graduate education across disciplines.
With its extensive plant collections, rich biodiversity, and horticultural and botanical expertise, the Garden provides exceptional opportunities to learn, teach, and discover.
Research and Teaching Opportunities
Researchers and students are invited to connect with us to explore how the Garden’s resources and collections can support their projects.
Plant Collections: Browse specific plants through Garden Explorer, our mobile-friendly database that provides quick access to the Garden’s collections and on-site plant diversity.
Teaching Support: Faculty and instructors are encouraged to contact us at garden.records@ubc.ca to coordinate tours for courses.
Student Projects: The Garden welcomes student projects and coursework from several disciplines, especially those that help us document on-site biodiversity. Please contact us at garden.research@ubc.ca.
