Shop & Garden Centre
Nestled at the entrance to UBC Botanical Garden, the Shop in the Garden features unique treasures for gardeners and novices alike. The Shop in the Garden showcases a diverse selection of gardening and botanical books, handy garden tools and accessories, distinctive gifts and dried flower arrangements. The Garden Centre offers seasonal choice selections of perennials, small trees, shrubs and vines for the garden and patio.
The Shop in the Garden and Garden Centre is operated by the garden’s volunteers, the Friends of the UBC Botanical Garden. All proceeds from the Shop in the Garden and 100% of the purchase price of the seeds fund research, education and garden improvements at UBC Botanical Garden.

Our curated selection of books for gardeners and nature lovers receive many compliments from our visitors. Special emphasis is placed on the Pacific Northwest and local authors, and both the scientific and the aesthetic aspects of gardening are well represented, featuring essential reference works on plant families, pruning, propagation and plant identification, gardening with native plants and the cultivation of fruits and vegetables.
Seeds are collected by our Friends of the Garden volunteers at UBC Botanical Garden. These open-pollinated seeds are $4 per package. The number of seeds in each package varies depending on the type of seed. Please call the shop to confirm availability if you are making a special trip to the shop as some may be sold out at the time of your visit. All members of UBC Botanical Garden receive a 10% discount at the Shop in the Garden.
