Seed Collectors
Date posted: September 1, 2022
FOG seed collectors work closely with our garden curators to decide which flower seeds are ready to be collected. They collect, clean and package the seeds either for sale in the Shop or for propagation by the FOG “Seedy Growers” group.
Pictured here is a FOG showing seedheads from Camas which grows in the Garry Oak Meadow. Blue Camas roots are edible and were cultivated by indigenous groups as a winter crop, like potatoes.
