Date posted: March 11, 2021
The best way to greet the spring time is by seeding and planting at home and in our gardens. The Friends of UBC Botanical Garden are plenty busy collecting seeds in the Garden, and preparing them for sale in the Shop in the Garden.
One of the FOGs is choosing special seeds for her garden. Prepare for your spring and summer gardens at the Shop in the Garden today.

Four FOGs from the Seedy Growers group visit the Garden earlier in the winter season. All bundled up, they sympathize with the rhododendron behind them. The rhododendron protects itself from the cold by curling up its leaves and letting them hang down for minimal exposure to the freezing temperature.
Now into spring, the rhododendrons are starting to bloom again! Visit the Garden to check their progress.

Did you know that the Friends of UBC Botanical Garden manage the Shop in the Garden? Every January FOGs prepare for re-opening in Spring, take stock of the inventory and decide on their unique selection of plants, garden supplies, books, gifts, and more.
Facing the new challenges of the pandemic, the FOGs collaborate on how to best serve Shop and Garden Centre visitors and continue to deliver good value, garden advice and a pleasant shopping experience.
