Nothing says autumn in Vancouver like the leaves changing colours, the sound of biting into crisp apples and the scent of fresh apple pie. If you’re looking for a fun weekend filled with this cozy feeling, the UBC Botanical Garden Apple Festival is perfect for you.

.

A Weekend of All Things Apple

This year the festival will feature over 50 unique varieties of locally grown apples! Take them home with you by the bag or pick up one of the 50+ kinds of apple trees to start your very own at-home apple orchard.

Our tasting tent is making a return as well, and tickets are selling out fast! If you’ve already secured yours, get ready to taste unique apple varieties, some so rare you can’t find them anywhere else! For everyone else, hurry and get your tickets before it’s too late. We can’t wait to see you there.

Are You Hungry?

From apple pies to heart-warming bowls of ramen and bags of fresh kettle corn, the festival will be filled with food vendors and deliciously tempting aromas. With nearly 30 vendors, there will definitely be something for everybody.

You can browse the full list of vendors here!

Music, Community, and a Leaf Pile!

Apple festival is about more than just apples, the atmosphere is what keeps people coming back year after year. Local musicians will be performing throughout the weekend, livening up the festival with a mix of folk, pop, and acoustic tunes immersing you in that cozy autumn feeling. Stay tuned for our performer schedule!

The Children’s Area is guaranteed to be a family favourite. The area is filled with crafts, games, and of course, the famous leaf pile. Nothing screams autumn like a massive leaf pile that’s as photogenic as it is fun.

Chef, Yes Chef!

We’re excited to welcome back another mouth-watering partnership with UBC Food Services! Each day of the weekend, a professional UBC chef will take the stage to craft 3 apple-inspired dishes, showing us just how versatile the apple can be. We hope these demos will inspire you to find creative ways to bring fall flavours into your own kitchen!

New this year: Pomme de Terre

We are thrilled to introduce a new feature this year on the Pomme de Terre, also known as the potato! Join us in showcasing the humble crop through potato showcases, food trucks offering potato snacks and even take a potato home with you. Locally grown in Pemberton, BC, we’re selling five varieties of potato you may have never heard of before: Organic La Soda, Organic Constance, Organic Kennebec, Organic French Fingerling and Organic Sieglinde.

Want to read more about how the Pomme de Terre will be showcased at Apple Festival? Stay tuned for a blog about all things Potato!

The Core of the Garden: Sustainability
