As the summer comes to an end, UBC Botanical Garden hosted its second year of Nature Nurtures: a nature-based mind & body Reset. Wharton Glade welcomed 49 guests for an afternoon of mindfulness and gratitude for everything that the natural world has to offer.

Nature Bathing and Hatha Yoga

Attendees enjoyed a peaceful nature-bathing workshop run by UBC Assistant Professor Dr. Tahia Devisscher, allowing their stresses from the summer to slip away into the trees. After a short intermission, they then enjoyed a grounding Hatha yoga class guided by certified instructor Katie Dritsas, allowing themselves to disconnect from the online world and feel present in their bodies.

In between activities, guests were invited to participate in a gratitude journalling activity, recording something they feel grateful for and sharing it with others by pasting it onto a community board. This invited a warm energy that was felt throughout the entire event.

Thanks to our amazing sponsors, everyone was able to take home some goodies from Blume, Popoff, and Herbaland! A huge thank you to everyone who was able to come out to Nature Nurtures, and we look forward to having you back again next year.
