Discover the beauty and inspiration of magnolias through a poetic and performative lens in the Asian Garden with Dr. Celeste Snowber. UBC Botanical Garden is a magical place in early spring, in large part because of its extensive conservation collection of flowering Magnolias. Enjoy a blend of art and ecology in this creative Garden performance. Our unique collection of plants and Celeste’s enthralling interpretation of our majestic botanical beauties are sure to delight!

Presenter/Performer: Celeste Snowber, PhD is a dancer, poet/writer and award-winning educator who is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University. She has written extensively and her books include Embodied Prayer and Embodied Inquiry: Writing, Living and Being Through the Body. Her published poetry collections are Wild Tourist and Blue Waiting, of which she is the co-author. Celeste had the privilege of being the Artist in Residence in the UBC Botanical Garden for two years and she continues to create site-specific performances in the natural world that explore the connections between ecology and the arts. Celeste lives outside Vancouver, B.C and is a mother of three amazing adult sons. Her website can be found at www.celestesnowber.com.

Parking: Free visitor parking for 3 hours, provided you enter your license plate.

Cancellation Policies: A $5.00 processing fee per attendee is charged if cancellation notice is less than 7 days prior to your scheduled program. There is no fee for transferring the registration to another person. Cancellations can be made online or by contacting garden.programs@ubc.ca. In the event that UBC Botanical Garden cancels a program, we will offer the option of transferring to another program or obtaining a full refund.
