BranchingOUT returns Thursday, July 23 (6–9pm) for another evening celebrating plants, Pride, and the queer community.
Now in its fifth year, the event brings together 2SLGBTQIA+ nature lovers and friends for a fun evening where you can learn about the fabulous world of plants while meeting new people. Expect drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), snacks, music, crafts, and unexpected botanical education.
After a welcome, icebreakers, and perusing our local queer art vendors’ goods, guests are free to explore the Asian garden and visit our Sassy Botanical Stations. These are fun, educational, and interactive stations that teach you about plants in an entertaining way. Without giving too much away, think Seeded Rivalries, AstroloTREE, and more…The GreenHeart TreeWalk will be open for guests to experience walking through our forest’s canopy, and live music will be provided by UBC’s Blank Vinyl Project in the forest.
Whether you’re coming with friends or on your own, expect to meet new people and have a good time!
