This workshop will take place in the great outdoors so make sure you come prepared for the weather! This event is family friendly and great for beginner birders.
This workshop will focus on identifying common birds in UBC Botanical Garden and the Vancouver Area. The workshop will highlight:
- Bird shapes – how to identify bird families by their shape
- Where is that bird? On the ground, in the bushes, in the sky? What does that mean?
- How to create bird-friendly habitats around your home
- What do cats have to do with birds?
- Importance of habitat protection along migratory flyways
- Vancouver’s best birding areas
Bring your family outside and learn about migration, birds and biodiversity. Discover the best bird watching hotspots in our 80-acre garden located on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.
